Resident Therapist

Quinn is passionate about creating an environment where each person feels encouraged and empowered to bring their entire, authentic self to the space. They are committed to cultivating growth-fostering relationships characterized by empathy, compassion, mutuality, and respect that honor each individual person’s life experiences and identities. It is Quinn’s belief that each person has the capacity to heal and grow, and that a strong therapeutic relationship is essential for this process. Quinn works collaboratively to create a safe and supportive space for their clients to explore their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

As a member of the Queer community, Quinn understands the importance of creating an affirming space for all people. They have experience working with gender-expansive individuals, as well as those that are exploring identity and navigating gender-affirming healthcare. Quinn works to honor each client’s unique experiences and intersectionalities and places them as the expert in their own lives. In addition to experience working with Queer individuals, Quinn has significant experience in working with parents who have experienced perinatal loss, traumatic birth experiences, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders.

Quinn’s practice is informed by person-centered and relational therapies, as well as psychodynamic therapy. They work with clients to create both long- and short-term goals that are achievable and foster a sense of self-efficacy and self-worth. Quinn finds joy in witnessing the discovery and growth that comes as a result of internal exploration and curiosity.

What is a Resident Therapist?

All QueerWell Resident Therapists have completed their master’s degree in social work and are currently under the supervision of a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). Designated as supervisees in social work by the Virginia Department of Health Professions, these therapists engage in over two-years of post-master’s clinical practice and supervision leading to the LCSW credential.

Quinn Bitsas’ clinical supervisor is Nicole O-Pries, LCSW.

Can I see a QueerWell therapist if I am outside of Virginia?

Unfortunately, no. It would make a lot of sense if online counseling services could be made available regardless of location. Alas, antiquated regulations prevent us from providing therapy sessions whenever a person is located outside of Virginia. (This also applies to Virginia residents who may be traveling.)
